AT&T CELL PHONES

I have a Samsung cell phone. The kind that you plug in the charger on the side. Well less than a year old and the slot is worn out and the charger can't fit in anymore. The cell cannot be charged. I brought it into my local at&t office. They said no problem your phone is in warranty and this is a common problem. But, we don't exchange phones here. You need to go to our warranty replacement store. They were very friendly. That's were the good stops.

I got to the warranty replacement store. They asked me what was wrong. I told them. They go to the back of the phone and remover the battery cover. The at&t person says "You Warranty is void." I said why. He says there is a white tab on every cell phone in the batter compartment that if it turns pink it means water leaked into the batter case voiding the warranty. This I never heard of before. I said, no water got into there I am sure. He said, it could have been condensation. I said that is not my fault, he says, it is a rule they have. The warranty is void.

I get mad and he says ok we can make an exception in this case (sure). I will give you a replacement phone but with only with a 3 month warranty. If something happens that you bring this replacement phone in and the spot is pink, we will not replace the phone. You will need to buy a phone at full price.

This is ^%#*. I live in San Francisco. We have very unstable weather here. One day warm, one day cold, another raining. Condensation is a fact here. Warning to all, this will happen to you. If you even have the phone in a pocket, your body heat will warm it up. Then it cools off. Bingo, condensation. Here is a photo of what the tab looks like. White is good, Pink your screwed.
